About this Speaker
Dr. Jamelah Tucker has been a pediatrician and naturally, a child advocate, for over a decade. Over her years in practice as a pediatric hospitalist, she has cared for thousands of infants and children across the United States, from Alaska to Florida and places in between. She is a patron of the arts, a mentor, and a supporter of causes that speak to her heart such as children’s literacy programs and care of wounded veterans. Dr. Tucker has a passion for good, healthy foods and for teaching families the importance of wellness, wholeness, and balancing good calories in and calories out. Believing that artificial flavoring has “hijacked” our notions of what food should taste like, her desire for all of us is to invest in re-training our palates toward natural flavors – take our tastebuds back! Dr. Tucker is a proud alumnus of Hampton University in Virginia, Emory University Schools of Medicine and Public Health in Atlanta, and the University of Maryland Medical Center Department of Pediatrics in Baltimore. She loves to recount and reflect on her travels – both personal and professional adventures – as she is certain that the sum of those experiences positively influenced both her work as a physician and the health food business that she co-founded with her sister: EasyPeasie Veggie Blends.
