About this Speaker
Benita C. Gordon was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Virginia. She has always believed that becoming an educator in her DNA. As an educator, she has made it her business to Just Teach Basics. She has started her own educational consulting company, Just Teach Educational Consulting, LLC where they focus on provided guidance for parents for the correct school for their child. They also consultant with educational institutions to train new teachers, mentor seasoned teachers and create teacher leaders in all aspects and areas. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampton University she went on to teach in rural schools in Virginia to urban schools in Florida, Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia and as a teacher and Curriculum Specialist of English in the UAE. Ms. Gordon’s passion has allowed her to teach in the states and abroad in the areas of English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Humanities, and Writing. Ms. Gordon is currently in her 22nd year of teaching. She has found her niche and embraced the Middle School/Junior High School culture and continues to focus on how she can improve, expand, expose and connect her students to “real-life”. She does this by being an educational consultant, teacher leader, Dean of School Culture and climate, Department/Team lead, Dean of students and family engagement lead. Her consultant business Just Teach has worked with school districts, Universities, Department of Education, private schools, homeschool associations and parents to assist in setting a foundation for quality education. As a turnaround specialist, Ms. Gordon serves as a teacher leader and sought-after education guide for mentor teachers, administrators, parents, and other educators. Ms. Gordon believes that it is necessary to guide students to find their niche in life. Guide parents to find the right fit for their child and to assist educators to be their best for their students.
